New Work
2007 -

I've always been intrigued by the nature of the way in which lens perceive the world, which is quite different than the way we actually see. These images are primarily emotional, and explore ideas about memory, perception, pain and truth. The look of the images is created optically, rather than digitally. There are other examples on the site as well. The still life images are also available as corporate and hotel fine art photography.

Bed Project

The Bed Project
2005 - 2006

There is perhaps no place we are more ourselves than in our beds. In The Bed Project Mark had his subjects bring their own bedding to his studio and dress as they normally would for bed. In turn, they revealed a very personal and often playful side of themselves usually shared only in private.

Fine Arts Project

City of Hope BMT Survivors
2006

Commissioned by City of Hope Medical Center, this is a series of portraits of Bone Marrow Transplant survivors. The series strives to communicate individuality, depth, and vitality. Mark doesn't believe that photography is "fine art" simply because it wasn't commissioned; fine art photography is photography that reaches a higher level.
