Sunlight and Water Closing Celebration
to Benefit Return to Freedom
Sunday, February 13, 2011, Noon to 4pm
Bridelwood Estate Winery, 3555 Roblar Avenue, Santa Ynez CA 93460
Join us to celebrate the closing of the wildly successful six month exhibition of Sunlight and Water, taste award-winning Bridlewood Estate Wines, and discover the conservation work done by Return to Freedom (a wild horse sanctuary).
Bid on eclectic auction items and bring your children to meet ambassador horses from the sanctuary, including Spirit, the muse for DreamWork’s Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. Parents are encouraged to bring their camera to photograph their children with these amazing animals.
Tickets are just $12.50 per person or $25 per family in advance.
At the door they are $17.50 per person or $35 per family.
(Family tickets include two parents and up to four of their minor children.)
All proceeds go directly to Return to Freedom.
Live music, entertainment, wine, food, and event costs have been donated by Jennifer and Mark Robert Halper (of Sunlight and Water) and by Bridlewood Estate Winery.

The Wine Cask Presents:
An Exclusive Sunlight and Water Preview and Wine Tasting

Artist/Photographer Mark Robert Halper has generously agreed to give an exclusive peek at some yet to be released work from his upcoming Sunlight and Water Exhibition. He will be joined by winemakers from MARGERUM, Happy Canyon and Cimarone: each pouring their own wines. This one-time-only, preview event will include images that have never been publicly presented.
This is event is just $15 at The Wine Cask and, if you wish, there are a limited number of dinner reservations available for later that evening.

The Winemaker's Dinner
An Exclusive Sunlight and Water Artist’s Table Event

Join Winemaker Kirby Anderson and artist Mark Robert Halper for a gourmet sit down dinner designed by Chef Bradley Ogden himself at Solvang's Root 246 Restaurant. This event is limited to only 18 guests, each of whom will have the opportunity to break bread, mix and mingle with two celebrated artists, both a master of their craft.
Kirby Anderson is the winemaker for Evan's Ranch, Gainey, Huber, Triple T, Westerly, consults with several respected wine companies, and is highly respected in his field. Mr. Anderson be presenting varietals from several of the wineries that he creates wine for.
Mark Robert Halper, is the inspired creator of the Sunlight and Water Exhibition, Events and Book.
Chef Bradley Ogden’s philosophy of “keeping it simple” and using the freshest ingredients available has helped him become one of the most respected names in the culinary industry. Each menu he creates is a study in what’s seasonal, what’s savory, and a bit of the unexpected.

Sunlight and Water: Celebrating the Winemakers of Santa Barbara County bursts onto the scene as K & L Wine Merchants presents artist/photographer Mark Robert Halper’s Los Angeles debut artist talk and book signing. Direct from his opening weekend in Los Olivos, CA. Mr. Halper returns home to share with you his experiences in creating his winemaker portrait series, to present his stunning images, and to toast with you on this special occasion. The evening will feature some of the best Central Coast Pinot Noirs produced in the region. K & L will be pouring three pinot noirs from Ken Brown, a chardonnay and pinot noir from Au Bon Climat and the La Croce, Estate Syrah and L'Avion white from Stolpman Vineyards. The cost is $5.

Silverlake Wines will be pouring a selection from boutique, artisanal wineries on the West Lawn while Mr. Halper is signing books in the Municipal Art Gallery Portico from his recently released Sunlight and Water winemaker portrait series. 50% of the book sales from the event go directly to benefit the Barnsdall Art Park Foundation.

The Celebration of Harvest

The annual Celebration of Harvest is held in October each year, when we're in the thick of the winegrape harvest and winery staff take a needed break to showcase their latest wines, many newly bottled. Local restaurants, caterers and specialty food purveyors will showcase their talents and the bounty of Santa Barbara County, while live and lively bands will fill the air with music. Add to that the silent auction to benefit local food banks, and we definitely have a reason to Celebrate Harvest.
Pick up your copy of Sunlight and Water at the Celebration when you can have it personally signed by Mr. Halper, and by many of the winemakers within its pages who will be there to pour for you. Fifty percent of the proceeds from the book will benefit the Vintner's Association.
We will also be giving away the 11x17 Sunlight and Water commemorative posters that Mr. Halper will sign for you (while the supply lasts). Visit us when you arrive to be sure to get yours. Look for our booth with the restaurants and the other artists.
